Cardiac Catheterization and Surgery

If a patient needs an interventional catheterization procedure or cardiac surgery, Dr. Chanana will discuss with each family the options available to them. We have a strong working relationship with the UT Southwestern Dallas, Baylor College of Medicine, Oklahoma University, University Medical Center San Antonio and University of New Mexico, Albuquerque.

We are pleased to inform that our pediatric echocardiography lab has the capabilities to share echocardiogram images with these cardiac surgical centers as the images are being obtained in our office.

This makes seamless evaluation and management especially for  children with complex congenital heart disease who will require open-heart surgeries or interventional cardiac catheterization at these centers.

​The cardiologists and cardio-thoracic surgeons can review the images while patient is in our office and can counsel the family about the possible treatment options via teleconferencing on case-by-case basis. This saves family multi-day preoperative evaluation visits at these centers.

We always wish to provide as much information as possible so that the family and cardiologist together can make the best decision possible.
